Good to be able to do tours like this now due to no mandates, was an amazing time and nature provided, the wildlife came out to play. Very pleased about that. Kate and Leigh are awesome guides who had lots of knowledge and took care of us. Thank you. My only moan was I probably could've missed out on the video and briefing. So I think getting there at 10 is more for the swimmers not the watchers.

Best experience ever! 2.5hr drive from Christchurch and it's worth it. I did the tour this past Tuesday. Incredible feeling when swimming next to hundreds of dolphins. The Encounter team was super useful and friendly. Thank you for helping me take beautiful photos.

Great experience, one of the best highlights of the birthday trip!????✨️ I'll do it all over again! Big thanks to Kate, Cullen and the lovely lady (I'm sorry I didn't catch her name) at reception. Everyone's been amazing! Also the cafe is superb!

Our first encounter with dolphins and many thanks to the encounter kaikoura for accommodating us in the last minute ???? plus for such a wonderful experience. Staff members on boat were extremely cheerful...ample time and fun not only for the watchers but also for people who are looking for a chance to swim with dolphins..highly recommended ????

This was an awesome experience. Had the opportunity to spot few dolphin pods, that means q heaps of dolphins in their natural habitat. Book tickets in advance. They recommend 8.30am tour. But, I went on 12.45pm tour. But still spotted a whole lot. 1st time ever in life saw dolphins in natural habitat that much that closer. Tickets were 110$ if watching the dolphins from the boat and if diving with dolphins 210$ or 220$ as on 31/12/2022. When u make it to their office, u r given tags and have to wait till u r grouped. They u r driven to south bay by a bus, and then to the boat. No refreshments are available inside the boat, so anything to eat has to be bought from outside. I absolutely loved this. The staff was really attentive. At the office, there is a cafe operating. Could be a dollar or two expensive. If comparing to dolphin watch at Akaroa, this is the one to go for if u wanna see dolphins. A good quality camera would be handy to capture the moments, specially their flipps. Lovely to watch.
